Relay For Life postponed
RUMFORD — Due to the incoming tropical storm Andrea and with concern for survivors, team members, committee members and the safety of the general public the River Valley Relay For Life event that was to take place on June 7 and 8 has been postponed until June 28 and 29.
The Ride For Life motorcycle ride and the Relay Cut-A-thon that were to take place at the field on Saturday, June 8, have also been rescheduled to June 29.

SeniorsPlus to visit area
NORWAY — SeniorsPlus, the Area Agency on Aging, will be at the West Paris Library from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Norway Town Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, and at the Rumford Town Office from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 26. Representatives will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns.

Mexico High Class of 1964
RUMFORD — The Mexico High School Class of 1964 will hold their monthly lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the River Valley Grill. All classmates, spouses and guests are welcomed. Any questions contact 364-3388.
Historical Soc. meets June 13
DIXFIELD — On June 13 the Dixfield Historical Society will have their meeting at the Society meeting room, Main Street, at 6:30 p.m. A program on Maine architecture will be presented by Les Fossel of Restoration Resources.
Restoration Resources is the premier historic house restoration company in Maine, founded in 1975. His work has been featured in Colonial Homes, Down East Magazine, Architectural Digest and Early American Homes.
He has taught his “Field Course in Old Houses” through adult education since 1989. He’s received numerous awards, including a 2008 Honor Award for “Long term commitment to providing broad ranging preservation education,” a 2007 Maine Preservation for “Outstanding contribution to the Board of Trustees as Vice President” and a 2001 Honor Award for “Excellence in restoration carpentry and the building preservation trades.”
Fossel is also president of the DaPonte String Quartet, treasurer of the Deck House School and treasurer of the Wiscasset & Quebec Railroad.
He lives in an 1810 Cape in Alna with three barns and 40 acres of fields.
