RUMFORD — The threat of severe weather from Tropical Storm Andrea has forced organizers of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life River Valley to postpone Friday night’s event.

The event was to be held from 6 p.m. June 7 through 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Hosmer Field in Rumford.

It has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. Friday, June 28, through 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the same venue, society spokeswoman Patty Cooper said Thursday afternoon in a news release.
