WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris has the following services planned for June. All are welcome to attend at 9 a.m. followed by a coffee hour.
After June services will conclude until September. The Sumner First Universalist Church at 1148 Main St., West Sumner, offers worship services at 11 a.m. during July and August.
June 9: “The Zen of Baseball” led by The Rev. Fayre Stephenson, who regularly leads services at the First Universalist Church and now officially resides in the western hills. This service uses the NYU President John Sexton’s new book, “Baseball as a Road to God,” as the text. The service will be an exploration of the deeper spiritual dimensions of life experienced through our national pastime.
June 16: “Flower Communion” led by The Rev. Fayre Stephenson. At this last service of the church year, the topic will be the story of the origins of the Flower Communion and the church will celebrate its own Flower communion. There will be plenty of flowers to share, or bring flowers from your garden.
June 23: First Universalist Church will attend worship services at the Mission Congregational Church, West Paris, as has become an annual practice of visiting each other’s church.
