Date change for library meeting

WILTON — The date of the Wilton Free Public Library Annual Meeting has been changed to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the library. The public is encouraged to attend.

At 7:30, the Library Board of Trustees will hold their meeting.

Annual yard sale rescheduled

FARMINGTON — Due to inclement weather the Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association had to postpone their annual yard sale. The sale will be held Saturday, June 15, at 508 Fairbanks Road, near Jack’s Trading Post.

The sale will begin at 8 a.m. sharp to accommodate early bird buyers, and it will end at 1 p.m. The grounds will be packed with items ranging from furniture, dishes, linens, books, crafting materials, a washer less than five years old, toys, knick knacks, some antiques and collectibles, and lots more too numerous to mention.

In the case of rain the sale will be postponed.

Donations are welcome and can be picked up within a 20-mile radius of Fairbanks. For more information contact 778-3808 or 778-4349. Proceeds of this sale will help defray the cost of maintenance on the building.

Public Masonic supper June 15

WILTON — There will be a public Masonic supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Building, 70 Bryant Road, to benefit the building fund.

Menu will be baked Black Forest ham, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, rolls, assorted homemade pies and beverages. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Garden Club tours local garden

FARMINGTON — Sally Smith of 233 Middle St., Farmington, will welcome Mt. Blue Area Garden Club members and guests to her yard at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, where they will get to observe a garden that has been “a work in progress” for the past year.

Smith thinks of her garden as a “Friendship Garden” because many of her perennials have come from friends’ gardens. Club members are asked to bring a bagged lunch, a chair and a plant to swap. Desserts and beverages will be provided by hostesses Matiana Glass, Nita Patten and Carol Godomsky.

Club president Amy Palmer will conduct the monthly meeting. Anyone interested in gardening is welcome to attend. For more information call 645-2067.
