LITCHFIELD — Spirit of America Awards were presented April 23 to the following people.

Keith Marquis: He has put on a fireworks show for local people since 1990 at no charge.

Scott Weeks: He has been responsible for the Antique Car Show for 18 years. The show is held each year to raise funds for the Fireman’s Association.

Lorene Pangburn: She has knit and donated hundreds of hats to the needy. Makes different crafts and ships them by the boxful to Make a Wish Foundation for their auction.

Rachel Fiske, D.V.M: She has helped raise money for the Fuel Fund by donating her time and giving rabies shots at cost.

Estella Georgette Partridge: She has made more than 100 afghans and donated the majority of them to cancer patients as well as dozens to veterans at Togus.

George Luckhurst: He has volunteered to work with handicapped skiers and bikers for five years. He also volunteers at Togus.

Howard Campbell: He has volunteered for the Litchfield Farmers Club since 1958. Campbell is a resource for the historical society, with always a story to tell.

Scott and Penny Bennington: They have chosen to give back to the community instead of exchanging Christmas gifts. They have also chosen to make very generous donations to the fuel fund. There are many in town who have benefited by having a warm house. Scott and Penny were not able to attend when the awards were presented last year. Scott attended this year.
