WILTON — Police say a 12-gauge shotgun and a collection of 30 Avon bottles were recently taken from a vacant home on Route 2 West.
The homeowner checked on the home Friday afternoon and found a back window was broken where someone had forced entry into the home, police Chief Heidi Wilcox said. The homeowner reported the burglary to police about 2:15 p.m.
A Franklin County Sheriff’s Department canine unit attempted to track around the residence Friday, Wilcox said.
The home is near a vacant building on More Acres Road, which was reported burglarized last week. Family members found that there were antiques missing from the home. Police suspect the two burglaries are connected.
The homeowner was unsure of the make or model of the firearm, Wilcox said.
Police believe this burglary occurred within the past couple weeks.
Anyone with any information on the two burglaries is asked to call the Wilton Police Department at 645-3876.
