Oxford Historical Society meeting
OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the Kay House, 73 Pleasant St. All members and those interested in history are welcome.
The entertainment will be presented by Glenda Drapeau, Oxford librarian. Glenda will present the history of the Oxford Library.
Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
The society will hold a yard sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 29, at the Kay House. There will be lots of new items for sale.
Food Pantry is open Friday
OTISFIELD — The Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 28, at East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, Rayville Road. The pantry is open on the fourth Friday of every month. For more information, call 539-4619.
Boot drive helps fund fireworks
BRIDGTON — A boot drive will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30, at the Little Mountain Store on Route 302 in West Bridgton to raise $4,000 to pay for Bridgton’s Fourth of July fireworks, which will be ignited on July 3.
Capt. Paul Ferland has given up his boots for two days. Lindamarie McDonald from the Bridgton Community Center’s board of directors will be at the store to thank donors.
Fireworks canisters for donations are also available at Black Horse Tavern, Campfire Grille, Hayes True Value and The Little Mountain Store.
Food bank open in Sumner
SUMNER — Sumner Food Bank will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, July 1, at the Congregational Church of East Sumner, 50 Main St. It is open the first and third Mondays of each month. For more information call 388-2610.
West Paris food pantry
WEST PARIS — The Neighborhood Niche Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St. The pantry is open the first and third Tuesday of each month. West Paris residents are invited to come once a month.
Spurrs Corner food pantry hours
OTISFIELD — The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Bridgton Library spaghetti feast
BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Public Library will hold its annual Spaghetti Feast from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Stevens Brook Elementary School in downtown Bridgton.
The menu includes spaghetti with meat and meatless sauce, fresh, locally-grown greens, bread, coffee, lemonade, sun tea, ice cream and lots of homemade desserts.
Tickets are available at the door and cost $8 for adults, $4 for children 3 to 10. Children under 3 are free. Highchairs are available.
The supper is held just before the Bridgton Community Band Concert and Fireworks, which are also at the Stevens Brook School.
All proceeds benefit the library programs.
VFW Harlow post meets July 3
PARIS — The Floyd A. Harlow Jr. VFW Post 9787 will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the hall, 58 East Main St.
Waterford Library July 4 book sale
WATERFORD — The Waterford Library will hold its annual book sale from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, July 4, as part of the Waterford Village Independence Day celebration.
The sale will include a large selection of hardcover and paperback books as well as a good selection of children’s books. The library will be open during the hours of the book sale. Hard cover books are a bargain at $2, paperbacks will be available for $1 each.
Book donations are welcomed prior to the sale and may be left in the library lobby at any time.
The Waterford Library is on Routes 35/37 in Waterford Flat near the old town hall on Keoka Lake.
