RUMFORD — The Town of Rumford has announced its participation in the Maine PayPort Online service, a convenient way for citizens to pay their personal property/real estate tax and sewer utility payments online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The town already participates in Maine PayPort OTC, an over-the-counter solution that allows individuals and organizations to be able to pay for any service, fee, license or product offered by the municipality, using a Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit card.
Maine PayPort Online is a service offered by a third party working in partnership with the State of Maine and this municipality. As a part of the service, the designated portion of a payment will be remitted to the municipality. The balance funds the operation of this and other Maine.gov online services. Conducting business through Maine PayPort Online is voluntary and the final cost may be higher than using other forms of payment.
