NORWAY — It’s almost time for the Friends of Norway Memorial Library Annual Used Book Sale. Once again they will join in the festivities of the Norway Arts Festival at the Norway Grange Hall on Whitman Street.
In preparation for this popular sale the library is currently accepting donations of clean, gently used books until Saturday, July 6. Donations may be left inside the side entrance of the library whenever it is open. Please no Reader’s Digest books, encyclopedias or textbooks. Volunteers are also needed to help sort the books and work at the sale. Those interested in participating should sign up and talk with Beth at the library.
The sale opens to the public on Friday, July 12, from 4 to 7 p.m., and again on Saturday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers can expect to find books that will please readers of fiction, nonfiction, history, cooking, gardening, hobbies, local subjects, children’s books and lots more. The outside area prices start at 25 cents and inside at $1.
The Friends are also selling raffle tickets for a basket containing a variety of chocolate items. Raffle tickets are $2 each or three for $5. Drop by the library after July 1 to take a look at the wonderful treats you could win with a single raffle ticket. It also will be on display at the book sale. Tickets may be purchased during the sale and at the library until the day of the drawing, Aug. 23.
