LEWISTON — Lyceum Gallery will host a Plein Air Celebration on Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28. The theme is the downtown areas of Lewiston and Auburn. All artists are invited to participate using media such as paint, pastel, pen and ink, and multi medium. No photography.
L-A is experiencing a renaissance of growth and creativity and the new activity and history of this community is a wonderful inspiration for artists. Consider the views from the parking garages, the banks of the Androscoggin River, Kennedy Park, the foot bridge over the river, the mills and other historic buildings, newly renovated buildings and people. Painters are encouraged to select a piece of L-A’s downtown that speaks to them and capture that inspiration on canvas.
Plein Air LA Exhibit will open Friday, August 9 at Lyceum Gallery and will be juried during Plein Air Days. Jurors will visit all participating artists to select 30 pieces for the exhibit. Those selected will be notified by 7 p.m. Sunday, July 28.
