Dance with Jones Band

PARIS — A dance with music by the Jones Dance Band will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 13, 20 and 27, at the American Legion Hall, Church Street.

Cost is $5.

Finnish Center open Sundays

WEST PARIS — An open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. every Sunday throughout July and August at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.

The museum will not be open Aug. 18.

Lakeside OES meeting July 9

WALES — Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, to celebrate Independence Day and the official visitation by Sister Rebecca D. Johnson, associate grand matron.

The meeting will be held at the Grange-Masonic Building at 322 Centre Road. Refreshments will be served after the meeting and hosted by Sister Lucille Bauer and Brother Brett Jervis.

Ladies are requested to wear colored gowns, gentlemen dark suits.

‘Snake Man’ to visit library

Donations aid Boys/Girls Clubs

LEWISTON — Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Staples are teaming up with teen actor Jake T. Austin for the 6th annual Staples for Students national school supply drive for kids in need.

Through Sept. 28, Staples customers can donate $1 or more at their local Staples store with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local students at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine.

All donations will be given locally to ensure they get into the hands of disadvantaged youth just in time for the new school year.
