Dance with Jones Band
PARIS — A dance with music by the Jones Dance Band will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 13, 20 and 27, at the American Legion Hall, Church Street.
Cost is $5.
Finnish Center open Sundays
WEST PARIS — An open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. every Sunday throughout July and August at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
The museum will not be open Aug. 18.
The building is air-conditioned and handicapped accessible.
Lakeside OES meeting July 9
WALES — Lakeside Chapter 60, Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, to celebrate Independence Day and the official visitation by Sister Rebecca D. Johnson, associate grand matron.
The meeting will be held at the Grange-Masonic Building at 322 Centre Road. Refreshments will be served after the meeting and hosted by Sister Lucille Bauer and Brother Brett Jervis.
Ladies are requested to wear colored gowns, gentlemen dark suits.
Lewiston Bridge Club winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on July 1 were as follows: first, Nancy Lindgren and Richard Balian; second, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; third, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin.

Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

‘Snake Man’ to visit library
RUMFORD — The Rumford Public Library Summer Fest at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, will host Rob “the Snake Man” White and his amazing reptiles. Free hugs from the snakes to those who dare. Area children and their friends are welcome. This is a free program.

FARMINGTON — Farmington Historical Society will hold a Summer Auction at the Old North Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11. Public viewing is at 5 p.m.

Teen dance with TJ the DJ
PARIS — A teen dance starring TJ the DJ will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at American Legion Post 72, 12 Church St.
Admission is $6. The 20th person through the door earns free admission and $20.

PERU — The Peru Historical Society will meet at the Historical Society Building at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, for their monthly meeting.
Donations aid Boys/Girls Clubs
LEWISTON — Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Staples are teaming up with teen actor Jake T. Austin for the 6th annual Staples for Students national school supply drive for kids in need.
Through Sept. 28, Staples customers can donate $1 or more at their local Staples store with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local students at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine.
All donations will be given locally to ensure they get into the hands of disadvantaged youth just in time for the new school year.
The local Staples store to make a donation is at 855 Lisbon St.
North Jay Grange supper

Kiwanis flea market, sale
PARIS — Norway Paris Kiwanis Club will hold its Outdoor Flea Market Undercover Garage Sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, 256 Main St.
The event will run in conjunction with Rotary’s auction and ticket sales and also the Kiwanis pancake breakfast. Also joining on Sunday at the pancake breakfast will be the Uptown Cruizahs.
