FARMINGTON — An Industry woman escaped serious injury when the car she was driving Wednesday hit a moose standing in Route 4 in the Fairbanks section of town.
The bull moose was killed, according to a report from Farmington police Sgt. Edward Hastings IV, said secretary Rachel Heseltine on Friday.
Olivia Fahn, 24, was driving north on Route 4, also known as Fairbanks Road, toward Strong when she came upon the moose. The closest intersection to the accident was Stinchfield Road, Heseltine said.
The accident occurred at about 9:38 p.m.
Fahn, who was wearing a seat belt, was bleeding from the arms, according to Hastings’ report.
The roof of the 1994 Subaru received most of the damage. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
The moose was given to William Lovejoy of Farmington, Heseltine said.
