1931 – 2013

MONMOUTH — Theresa “Terry” B. Emmons, 82, a resident of Main Street, Monmouth, formerly of Newtown, Conn., died Thursday, July 11, in Lewiston, following a period of declining health.

She was born March 15, 1931, in Fairfield, Conn., the daughter of Michael and Theresa (Burian) Chervansky. Terry was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, Conn. She also attended the Connecticut School of Stenography for court reporting.

She married Robert A. Emmons of Monroe, Conn., in 1952 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield, Conn. Mr. Emmons passed away in 1974 after a long illness.

Terry worked as a court reporter in the Superior Courts in Connecticut and Maine. Following her work with the courts in Maine, she worked with Judge William McCarthy in Rumford, assisting with his computer work for malpractice hearings.

Terry moved to Monmouth in 1996 and made her home with her daughter and son-in-law. She enjoyed reading and gardening.

She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Mann and her husband, William, of Monmouth; one son, Robert A. Emmons Jr. and his wife, Yvonne, of Davis, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jordyn Mann, Adam Emmons and Garrett Emmons; and her special friend and sister-in-law, Delia Chervansky of Fairfield, Conn.
