ROCKLAND — From an award-winning television writer and producer comes a unique historical fiction novel,

This novel presents a segment of little-known history and expertly weaves in adventure and romance while calling into question many facets of Maine’s first English settlement. “Beyond” is now available from Maine Authors Publishing.

Thirteen years before the Mayflower, five Native Americans were kidnapped and taken to England. One of them, Skidwarres, spent two years learning all things English. His tutor, Richard, a young Oxford-educated gentleman, sailed back with him to the New World, along with 140 English soldiers, craftsmen, and adventurers. At the mouth of the Kennebec River, they erected the first colony north of Jamestown.

For over 25 years, Seymour has practiced clinical psychology in Maine and has been a professor at Cambridge College. Formerly he wrote and produced for television. He lives with his family in Brunswick.
