WINTHROP — Kennebec Land Trust will offer the following programs.
Bat presentation
“Are Bats Offshore?” will be the final presentation of Kennebec Land Trust’s 2013 Lyceum Series: Maine Mammals and Their Habitats. It will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Ladd Recreation Center, 26 Gott Road, Wayne.
Trevor Peterson of The Maine Chapter of The Wildlife Society will provide an overview of common and rare bat species in Maine, bat life cycles, white nose syndrome and bat monitoring tools.
An optional potluck is at 6 p.m. Bring a dish to share, and if possible, your own cup, plate and utensils.
Summer hike and picnic
The Sturtevant Farm Family Fun Summer Celebration Hike and Picnic will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 26.
Pack a picnic dinner and join organizers at Sturtevant Scenic Area in Fayette for a family-friendly evening. Everyone is welcome to hike the Meadowbrook Farm Trail, visit the animals at Sturtevant Farm and enjoy a picnic dinner at Sturtevant Scenic Area. Meet at Meadowbrook Farm Trailhead at 5 p.m. to hike, followed by a picnic at the Sturtevant Farm Scenic Area.
Annual meeting and potluck
Kennebec Land Trust’s Annual Meeting & Potluck Cookout, celebrating more than 4,700 acres conserved, will take place Sunday, Aug. 18, at Androscoggin Yacht Club, 22 Lake Road, Wayne.
A hike will provide a preview of the new Mount Pisgah trail, or enjoy a paddle to Perkins Woods on Androscoggin Lake.
Field trips will be followed by a potluck cookout and the brief annual meeting at the Androscoggin Yacht Club in Wayne. Bring a bathing suit.
There will be field trips for all ages from 2 to 4 p.m. The meeting and cookout will take place from 4 to 6.
Cost is $15 for adults, under 18 free. KLT will provide hamburgers, veggie burgers and beverages. Bring a dish to share and if possible your own plate, cup and silverware.
