MOSCOW (AP) — Environmental officials are holding a public hearing on a proposal to build what would be the largest wind farm in Maine.
The Department of Environmental Protection is holding the hearing Monday evening at Moscow Elementary School to give residents a chance to air their concerns about a proposed 62-turbine wind farm in the Bingham-Moscow area about 25 miles north of Skowhegan.
Blue Sky West, a subsidiary of First Wind Inc., says the $398 million project would generate up to 191 megawatts of power, making it the state’s largest wind farm.
