TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education, 486 Turner Center Road, will offer the following programs.

Mix it Up Art Camp starts July 29 and campers will experiment with a variety of materials to make unique works of art. Collage, multi-media pieces and photo transfers will be explored. This camp, for ages 8-12, is offered in two sessions, morning or afternoon.

Tumbling Camp begins July 29 for grades K-12. Campers will enhance their flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and self-confidence while improving and learning new tumbling skills. It’s progressive and fun. Wear workout clothes. Bring a bag lunch, snacks and water bottle.

The following four classes take place the week of Aug. 5.

Yoga Camp for Kids: Campers ages 5-10 will practice fun yoga postures, creative movement, games and breathing techniques. Each day will have a new theme: Rainforest, Day at the Beach, Space Exploration and more. Lessons will be reinforced through creative crafts. Healthy snacks will be provided.

Photo Camp: Ages 7-14, bring your point-and-shoot digital camera and get creative while improving photo taking skills. The technical stuff will be shared in small doses, and combined with fun hands-on practice to get campers excited about photography.

Dance Camp: Learn to dance, try something new or improve on what you know, for ages 7 and up. The week will end with a live performance. Wear comfy, stretchy clothes to move in and bring a bag lunch and water bottle.

Sub Training: Learn about MSAD 52 school expectations, teacher’s lesson plans and assertive discipline in this one-day class on Aug. 5. The course is one step in the substitute teaching application process for the district. A high school diploma is required, college degree preferred.

A one-night Crossbow Education Class will be held on Aug. 15. Students must have completed the Bow Hunter Safety class to register for it. Bows will be provided by the instructor. Preregistration is required and students must enroll by Aug. 6.

If they’re Mad About Science, register for a week of discovery that will include a variety of science topics like solar radiation and the physics of sports. This class starts Aug. 12 for students 6-12. (Must be entering first grade). Whether they are making a crystal garden or converting energy into power, they will surely have a scientifically awesome experience. If your youngster wasn’t crazy about science before, this week of fun is sure to drive them MAD about Science.
