BANGOR — The opening of the Bangor State Fair has been pushed back a day due to inclement weather.

Mike Dyer, general manager of the Cross Insurance Center, confirmed that the fair will open at noon Saturday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

With rain forecasted to fall much of the afternoon, with some of it being heavy, Dyer said canceling the first day of the fair was the best logistical choice.

Weather conditions look better for Saturday, with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s forecasted.

“Everything should be fine by then,” Dyer said.

Admission to the fair is $12, which is good for shows, exhibitions and unlimited rides.
