- Riley Cotter, on left, and AJ Cotter of Auburn presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society with the donations from their joint birthday party in June. AJ, who celebrated his fourth birthday, and Riley, who celebrated his ninth birthday, both asked for donations for the pets in lieu of birthday gifts. Party guests donated pet food, toys and $25 to the shelter, all of which will help with the care of the thousands of unwanted animals the Humane Society helps each year.
