WEST PARIS — Global Tower Partners is proposing a 190-foot-tall communications tower off Stearns Hill Road.
Town Manager John White said paperwork has arrived in the code enforcement officer’s office concerning the proposal, and he expects it will be discussed at the next Planning Board meeting on August 13.
Unlike some other towns in the area, West Paris does not have an ordinance concerning communication towers.
The code enforcement officer will be looking to make sure the plan meets requirements of the town’s setbacks and other development standards, White said.
If the plan goes through, this will be the second communication tower in West Paris. It will be located in Orchard Courts, off Stearns Hill Road.
White said wireless communication in town is currently pretty thorough and he has heard no complaints about the existing communication tower.
The company, based in Boca Raton, Fla., also has several other communications towers in the area.
In January, the Norway Planning Board unanimously approved a site plan and building permit from Global Tower Partners for a 190-foot wireless telecommunications tower on Frost Hill. That tower is up and running now.
The height of 190 feet is less than the 200 feet height that requires the structure be lit.
