STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society’s pictorial 2014 calendars are now available. The cover features Stratton High School Class of 1964– 50 Years Ago with Colby Bean, Barbara Targett, Frank Caldwell, Douglas Townsend. Leo Harris, Connie Tague, Ray Henderson, Minnie Field and Christine Sylvester.

January features three businesses on Main Street, Stratton, circa 1910. February depicts Eustis Memorial, Cathedral Pines, Eustis; March, Fred Townsend, 1957; April, 2013 photo of the seven Brackett brothers and sisters: Daniel, Vincent, Peter, Lynn, Vivian, Cecile and Bettina; May, Church Street, Stratton, postmarked 1906; June, 1944 photo of Cranberry Peak climbing party, with Stratton residents John Kelley Jr., brother James Kelley and cousin Alice Williamson Berka.

July features a grist mill and sawmill at Eustis Village, circa 1900; August, four generations of Caldwells in 1948, Leslie, Ernest Sr., Ernest Jr. and Robert Caldwell; September, Mt. Bigelow and Stratton circa 1900; October, Blanchard Avenue, Stratton, very early 1900s; November, Betty Johnson Tasker and her family, 1977; December, the five McCutcheon boys, Larry, Errol, Louis and twins Gordon and Glendon sitting on the running board of a 1926 car.

The back page of this calendar features a paragraph about each photograph which greatly adds to the value of the calendars.

The calendars are for sale at Pine’s Market and Fotter’s Market. The can also be purchased through the mail for $6 plus $2 for postage for each calendar.
