The Lewiston Senior Citizens awards a $500 scholarship to the child or grandchild of one of the group’s members. This year’s recipient is Jacob Boyd, son of Shawn and Melissa Boyd. His grandmother is a member of the Lewiston Senior Citizens. Boyd graduated from Edwards Little High School in June and will enter Central Maine Community College in September. He plans to major in psychology and work with young people. He words part-time at Hannaford and in the fall will again be an assistant basketball coach at the Auburn Boys and Girls Club.
