ST. GEORGE (AP) — Investigators have downloaded information from the data event recorder of a car that went out of control on coastal Maine town’s wharf, killing a 9-year-old Massachusetts boy and injuring his mother and brother.
Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison tells The Portland Press Herald the information was downloaded Wednesday but has not been analyzed. The data will provide information about the car’s speed and brakes.
A reconstructionist with the state police will disassemble parts of the 2007 Infiniti to determine whether a mechanical malfunction occurred.
Investigators are also waiting for blood test results on the driver, a 61-year-old New York City woman who said she does not remember what happened.
The Aug. 11 crash in the Port Clyde village of St. George took the life of Dylan Gold of Cohasset, Mass.
