OXFORD — Nomination papers are available for candidates to fill an open seat on the Board of Selectmen in November.
Oxford Town Clerk Ellen Morrison said Monday that candidates need a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 100 verified signatures from registered Oxford voters to qualify.
Nomination papers are due at the town office by the end of the business day on Sept. 23 in order to get on the ballot for the Nov. 5 election, Morrison said.
In early May, the sudden death of longtime Selectman Dennis Sanborn opened a seat on the five-member board. In May, the remaining board members decided not to hold a special election, citing the time it would take to organize an election.
Instead, they decided to hold an election in November.
