AUGUSTA — The Department of Veterans Affairs invites all those who assist, serve, treat or otherwise interact with veterans and their families on a regular basis to participate in a special workshop on the Fully Developed Claims Program, hosted by the Togus VA Regional Office. The program will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Togus VAMC, Building 210 Theater.
Submission of a “Fully Developed Claim” is the fastest way for veterans to receive decisions on their benefit claims. These workshops are designed specifically for all of VA’s partners and stakeholders who help veterans and their families with VA benefit claims. The workshops provide an opportunity to learn more about the FDC Program and how to encourage and help veterans file FDCs.
Under the program, veterans submit all available evidence, such a private medical records, together with their application for benefits. With this evidence in hand at the beginning of the claims process, VA is able to complete their claims in about half the time of traditional claims.
For more information on the workshop contact Barb Worden, Togus Regional Office public affairs officer, at 207-626-4788, ext. 5077.
