BREWER — Lewiston had a solid lead at the half (4-0), but didn’t slow down in the second, either, tallying six more goals, as the Blue Devils cruised past Brewer with a 10-2 victory in a boys’ soccer season opener Saturday.

Kwabena Akuffo-Anoff, Maslah Hassan, Abdibaari Hersi and Abdulkarim Abdulle ripped two shots each for goals for the Blue Devils (1-0). Ryan Gideon and Chris Watson each scored a goal for Brewer.

St. Dom’s 2, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP — The St. Dom’s boys’ soccer team fired 30 shots on goal Saturday afternoon, dominating Winthrop as the Saints rolled to a 2-0 victory Saturday. S.J. Park scored the Saints’ (1-0) two goals at 5:34 and 32 minutes.

Park had team support from Cameron Stewart and Chase Hainey, who each had an assist. Matt Secarek stopped 21 shots in net for the Ramblers (0-1).

Telstar 4, Oak Hill 1

WALES — Nick Conrad ignited a fire in the Telstar offense, firing two goals into the back of the net within five minutes as Telstar topped Oak Hill, 4-1, in boys’ soccer Saturday.

The Rebels (1-0) didn’t stop there. Haken Chartier and Eric Lowell each added a goal.

Bronson Dean had a near spotless day in net for Telstar, recording 11 saves. Andy Klaft recorded the only goal for the Raiders (0-1)

EL 3, Cony 1

AUGUSTA — Edward Little knocked in three quick goals in the second half, dispatching Cony with a 3-1 victory in a boys’ soccer game Saturday.

Brady Pleau scored first by heading home a shot and was shortly followed by Seth Sterling. Luke Sterling topped off his goal with 15 minutes to play on a Mike Hammond feed. Bronson Kieltyka scored the Rams’ only goal.

EL goalie Llewellyn Jensen maded 13 saves in net.

Mt. Blue 3, Oxford Hills 2

FARMINGTON — Drew Parsons rocketed two shots into the back of the net Saturday afternoon, as Mt. Blue edged Oxford Hills, 3-2, in men’s soccer.

Ike Doiron made all of the scoring plays possible with three assists on the day for the Cougars (1-0). Colton Lawrence saw more than enough action in net, stopping 12  shots on goal. Tyus Ripley scored both goals for the Vikings (0-1).

Yarmouth 4, Poland 0

YARMOUTH — With a scoreless first half, Wyatt Jackson inspired the Yachstmen, placing two goals in the net as Yarmouth overwhelmed Poland, 4-0, in boys’ soccer action Saturday.

Chandler Smith and David Clemmer each launched a goal into the back of the net during the second half, while Yarmouth outshot Poland, 33-1. Junior Zack Lowe received support from his defense and recorded eight saves in net.

Field Hockey

Oxford Hills 6, Hampden 2

HAMPDEN — Seniors Tayla Smedberg and Jesse Murch held nothing back on Saturday, knocking in two goals a piece as Oxford Hills outgunned Hampden 6-2 in a field hockey game Saturday.

Smedberg worked well with Abby Angevine, who assisted on one of Smedberg’s goals and tallied one herself. Chareeda Rustanivibul and Kelly Martin notched two goals for the Broncos (0-2). The Vikings (2-0) next matchup is home against Edward Little on Tuesday.

Bangor 2, Edward Little 0

BANGOR — Katelyn Rice and Georgia Moir each netted a goal as Bangor shut out Edward Little, 2-0, in a field hockey game Saturday. Rachel Luc was flawless in net, earning seven saves on nine shots.

Torrie Nightingale joined in her teammates efforts, recording the only assist of the game. Danica Nadeau stopped 14 out of 21 shots fired her way for the Red Eddies (0-2).
