VINALHAVEN — Jon Randolph had a solid pair of games for Buckfield, netting four goals as the Bucks swept a pair of EWC boys’ soccer games from Vinalhaven, 2-0 and 3-1.
In the first game, Randolph had both of his team’s goals. Kyle Chabe registered an assist for the Bucks (3-1) and Calvin Downey stopped 15 shots to earn the shutout.
In the second game, Hunter Wiley joined Randolph on the score sheet in the 3-1 win. Vinalhaven (0-3) got its lone goal off the foot of Zeb Campbell.
Lewis Cray was busy in net for Vinalhaven, making 48 saves in the two contests.
Spruce Mountain 2, Dirigo 1
RUMFORD — Eric Taylor, Adam Gettle and Mack Moreau each scored a goal as Spruce Mountain shook off Dirigo, 2-1, in a boys’ soccer game Saturday.
Dirigo’s Mick St. Germain scored with an assist coming from Brian Volkernick in the first half.
Mt. Ararat 2, Mt. Blue 1
TOPSHAM — With 27 seconds left in the second overtime, Justice Pierce found the back of the net to lift Mt. Ararat past Mt. Blue 2-1 in boys’ KVAC soccer action.
Mt. Blue got off to an early lead with Ike Doiron scoring in the first half. It was soon matched by Robbie Small who tallied in the equalizer for the Eagles. Mt. Blue goalie Colt Lawrence kept the game in reach, stopping 10 shots, two of which were penalty kicks.
St. Dom’s 6, Oak Hill 0
AUBURN — Jacob Charest launched two goals into the back of the net for St. Dom’s as the Saints cruised to a 6-0 victory over Oak Hill in boys’ varsity soccer.
The Saints (3-0) kept control in their favor the whole game, outshooting the Raiders (0-3), 27-2.
SJ Park, Parker Hachey and Cam Stewart joined Charest in the effort, scoring a goal each. Multiple assists came from Ryan Lutrzykowski (2), Jon Sturgis and Austin Roy.
Oceanside 2, Leavitt 0
TURNER — With a close first half, Oceanside pulled away, scoring two goals as they topped Leavitt 2-0 in boys’ varsity soccer action. Kaleb Robinson and Caleb Jacob each tallied a goal for the Mariners, as they improve to 4-0 on the season.
Robinson scored on a breakaway that was floated over the goalie into the top of the net. Jacob’s goal was knocked in off a corner kick that danced around in the box. Ben Fullerton stopped 10 shots in net for the Hornets (1-2).
Freeport 3, Poland 0
POLAND — Jack Davenport drove a goal into the back of the net 41 seconds into the regulation, lifting Freeport past Poland 3-0 in boys’ soccer action Saturday.
Davenport supplied another goal midway through the second half, while Ethan Roney added one of his own, with six minutes left to play. Zack Lowe stopped eight shots for the Knights (0-3), one being a penalty kick.

Buckfield sweeps
VINALHAVEN — Bri Damon scored with three minutes to play in regulation and Naudia Wesley punched in the game-winner in overtime to lift Buckfield to a 2-1 win over Vinalhaven, completing a two-game weekend sweep for the Bucks (4-1).
Ryann Warren’s goal for Vinalhaven (0-3) was the lone tally in the second game.
Arrabine Dunn stopped 13 shots for the Bucks in the second game.
McKayla Darling netted a pair of goals for Buckfield in the first game of the weekend, with Wesley adding the other in a 3-1 Buckfield win.
Ashley Campbell and Abby Campbell each had an assist over the pair of games.
Oceanside 2, Leavitt 0
ROCKLAND — Payton Billingsley blasted a shot over the keeper six minutes into the game, as Oceanside topped Leavitt 2-0 in girls’ varsity soccer action.
Emily Gould added another goal late in the half to secure the victory for the Mariners. Kalyn Grover stopped the only shot she faced in net for Oceanside. Angela Daigle had six saves for the Hornets in the loss.
Hall-Dale 4, Carrabec 2
FARMINGDALE — Freshman Addie Davis scored a goal and added an assist to lead Hall-Dale to a 4-2 victory over Carrabec in MVC girls’ soccer action.
Lilly Ly, Maura Stottler and Eva Sheperd all joined Davis, each finding the back of the net for the Bulldogs (3-0). Olivia Maynard stopped seven shots in net for Hall-Dale, while Macy Welch saved nine in goal for Carrabec.
St. Dom’s 3, Mt. Abram 1
AUBURN — Faith Grady knocked in a pair of goals in the second half to help St. Dom’s pull away from Mt. Abram for a 3-1 victory in MVC soccer action Saturday.
Grady’s pair of goals and one from Emma Byrne helped offset a goal from Mt. Abram’s Emma Houston, who scored in the first half on a penalty kick after a defensive hand ball inside the St. Dom’s box.
Emily Caron and Marley Byrne had assists for the Saints (3-0). Nicole Robitaille made three saves to earn the win for St. Dom’s, while Allison Lopez of Mt. Abram (1-2) stopped 13 as the Saints unleashed 29 shots in her direction.
Dirigo 5, Boothbay 0
DIXFIELD — Lindsy Crutchfield fired away two unassisted goals to lift Dirigo past Boothbay 5-0 in girls’ varsity soccer action Saturday. The Cougars (2-0), outshot Boothbay 35-2, being in control all afternoon.
Melissa Velazquez, Summer Keim and Kaitlin Morang joined Crutchfield in the scoring effort, tacking on a goal each. Jamie Wheeler stopped 10 shots on the day for the Seahawks (0-1).
Mt. Ararat 4, Mt. Blue 1
FARMINGTON — Nikki Bradstreet netted a pair of goals for the Eagles as they topped Mt. Blue 4-1 in girls’ varsity soccer Saturday.
Katie Labbay and Torri Pelletier each tallied a goal on the day, while Pelletier added in two assists.
Lauren Williams stopped seven shots on the day for the Eagles. Miranda Nicely recorded the lone goal for the Cougars, while Thia Bridges and Addie Schanz stopped nine shots combined in net.
Hampden 5, Lewiston 1
HAMPDEN — Abby Lord launched two goals into the back of the net as Hampden cruised past Lewiston 5-1 in girls’ varsity soccer action Saturday.
Kerry Quigly, Elise Arsenault, and Aubra Linn added in a goal each for the Broncos in the victory. Adela Kalilwa scored the lone goal for Lewiston, while Ally Frechette stopped 17 shots in net for the Blue Devils (0-2-1).
Field hockey
Oxford Hills 4, Bangor 0
PARIS — Oxford Hills utilized four different scorers to earn the victory, as they cruised past Bangor 4-0 in varsity field hockey.
Jesse Murch, Whitney Morse, Tayla Smedberg and Sydney Jackson all netted goals for the Vikings.
Erin Morton joined in with an assist on the day, while Shannon Fillebrown and Caroline Feeney shared responsibilities in net, stopping one shot each. Rachel Luke stopped 10 shots for the Rams.
St. Dom’s 1, Telstar 0
AUBURN — Olivia Chase was the only player to find the back of the net, as St. Dom’s came out on top, beating Telstar 1-0 in varsity field hockey. Alexa Kesaris worked well with Chase, providing her the open lane and earning the assist.
Junior Taylor Bergeron kept the game in reach, stopping all shots she faced in net for the Saints (1-3). Hali Barter recorded 10 saves in net for the Rebels (1-3).
