Brandon Binette gave EL the lead, scoring on a pass from Evan Raymond in the first half. Edward Little dominated on offense, outshooting the Indians 24-9.

Llewellyn Jensen made eight saves in net for the Red Eddies, while Anthony Paul made 22 for Skowhegan.

Winslow 5, Leavitt 0

WINSLOW — Logan Vashon found the back of the net twice, as Winslow blanked Leavitt 5-0 in varsity boys’ soccer action. The Black Raiders, who haven’t been scored on this season, are outscoring their opponents 27-0.

Jimmy Fowler, Taylor Roy, and Connor Wildes contributed a goal each for Winslow (5-0). Alex Bedard made three saves in net for the Black Raiders. Ben Fullerton and Carter Jordan combined for 12 saves in net for the Hornets (1-4-1).

Mt. Abram 7, Dirigo 1

DIXFIELD — Gerardo Rio Pazos and Court Talmag contributed a pair of goals each as Mt. Abram cruised past Dirigo 7-1 in boys’ MVC soccer action.

Colin McCarthy-Edwards, Arthur Ran and Chris Daly tallied a goal each for the Roadrunners (4-2). Tristen Dyer and Greg Sieckman shared time for Mt. Abram, stopping five shots on six attempts.

Oscar Deroche scored the lone goal for the Cougars, while Justin Grignon made 14 saves in net.

Poland 2, Sacopee Valley 2

SOUTH HIRAM — After being down a goal at the half, Poland’s Shawn Murphy scored the equalizer on a penalty kick, as Poland tied Sacopee Valley 2-2 in boys’ varsity soccer action.

Ben Campbell headed a goal to get things started off for the Knights, while Zack Lowe played a consistent game, making 12 saves. Matteo Pacucci scored both goals for the Hawks, while keeper Michael Pingree stopped four shots.

Lisbon 3, Winthrop 0

LISBON — A second half rally from the Greyhounds headed by Kyle Whitman pushed Lisbon past Winthrop 3-0 in boys’ MVC soccer action. Whitman found the back of the net twice, while Austin Fournier scored once for the Greyhounds (1-3-1).

Whitman had good support from teammates Zach Stevens, Austin Bedford and Kyle Welch, who each tallied an assist. Nate Bergeron made two saves in net for the shutout. Matt Sekarek stopped seven shots on the day for the Ramblers (1-3-1).

Telstar 2, Mountain Valley 1 (OT)

BETHEL — Hakan Chartier scored with eight seconds remaining in overtime to lift Telstar to a 2-1 victory over Moutnain Valley in boys’ soccer action Friday.

Corbin Arsenault put the Falcons (0-5) on the board first with a goal just minutes into the game.

The Rebels (2-3) fought back, pounding the ball on goal until Mavrick Griffin scored at 18:12 of the second half to knot the contest at 1-1.

Girls’ Soccer

Mt. Blue 3, Brewer 2

BREWER — Miranda Nicely fired two goals into the net to give Mt. Blue the edge, as the Cougars snuck past Brewer 3-2 in girls’ soccer action. Hope Thompson had a fine day in the field, netting a goal and assisting one for the Cougars (2-3).

Thia Bridges secured the win in net, stopping six shots on eight attempts. Ellie Leighton scored two goals for Brewer on the day, while McKayla Henderson stopped 20 shots in net.

Edward Little 3, Skowhegan 0

AUBURN — The Red Eddies utilized three different scorers as they swept past Skowhegan 3-0 in varsity soccer action Friday. Kory Norcross, Emily Jacques and Olivia Paione each found the back of the net for EL.

Calli Murray notched an assist on the day for the Eddies (3-2), while Molly Murray let nothing by in net, stopping five shots. Shawna Quimby made 10 saves for the Indians (0-5).

Poland 3, Sacopee Valley 2

POLAND — Emily Bolduc, Sarah Bolduc and Lindsay Theriault drove a goal each into the back of the net as Poland topped Sacopee Valley 3-2 in girls’ varsity soccer.

Emily Bolduc worked well with teammates Sarah Bolduc and Theriault, assisting both of their goals. Haley Whitworth made eight saves in net for the Knights (3-1). Courtney Clark scored two goals for Sacopee Valley, while goaltender Madison Day stopped 15 shots.

Hampden Academy 0, Oxford Hills 0 (2OT)

PARIS — Hampden Academy and Oxford Hills played to a 0-0 double overtime tie in girls’ soccer action Friday.

The Broncos (2-1-1) outshot the Vikings (2-0-1) by a margin of 13-11 and took a 6-3 edge in corners as well.

Goalie Sami Bowler made seven saves for Hampden Academy, while goalie Sam Bickford prevented 11 for Oxford Hills in the contest.

Field Hockey

Lisbon 10, Boothbay 0

LISBON FALLS — Four players scored twice for Lisbon as they routed Boothbay 10-0 in MVC field hockey action Friday. Olivia Harrington, Arianna Kahler, Hannah Jordan and Sarah Craig notched two goals each for the Greyhounds (5-0-1).

Lisbon’s Molly Nicholson, Jordan, Kahler and Michaela Bidell had an assist each. Cassie Pace and Charlotte Mooney added in a goal each for the Hounds, while Stevie Charest made two saves for the shutout in net.

Telstar 1, Mtn. Valley 0

RUMFORD — Sam Mallory connected with Autum Morin for the go ahead goal in the second half, as Telstar snuck past Mountain Valley 1-0 in field hockey. Telstar played aggressively all game, outshooting the Falcons 16-8.

Hali Barter shut down the Falcons’ offense, making four saves on the day. Kassie Thibodeau stopped 11 shots from the high-firing Rebel offense.

Oak Hill 5, St. Dom’s 0

AUBURN — Forward Sadie Goulet collected two goals and two assists as Oak Hill cruised to a 5-0 win over St. Dom’s in field hockey action Friday.

The Raiders (4-3) scored their third goal of the contest with just one second left in the first half. Kayla Veilleux contributed a goal and an assist.

Goalie Taylor Bergeron made 16 saves for the Saints (1-6), while goalie Abby Fuller turned back seven to earn the win in net for Oak Hill.

Cross country

Lewiston’s Farhiyo Aden and Faith Shaw finished second and third, respectively, at a cross country meet at Leavitt on Friday to lead the Blue Devils’ girls’ team  to a first-place finish over Maranacook.

The Black Bears’ Hannah Depres won with a time of 22:03.

In the boys’ race, Mt. Blue’s Josh Horne won in 16:52, just ahead of teammate Aaron Willingham, who finished in 17:03.

The Lewiston boys took first place among the seven teams, placing five runners in the top 10.
