USM artist faculty cellist William Rounds is a member of the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and plays frequently with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has performed internationally as a soloist with orchestras, in recital and as a chamber musician.
Now, he graces the Corthell Concert Hall stage with the remarkably deep, warm and expressive tones of an instrument in the hands of a master.
The program, focusing on bright, spirited pieces, includes works by Luigi Boccherini, classical Italian composer; André Previn, Academy Award-winning composer; Brahms, legendary 19th-century composer; and Zoltan Kodály, Hungarian composer and philosopher. Rounds will be accompanied by Sayuri Miyamoto, award-winning pianist, and Elisabeth Marshall, USM faculty voice artist.
Tickets: $15, general admission; $10, seniors, USM employees and alumni; $5, students. Visit www.usm.maine.edu/music/boxoffice or call 207-780-5555.
