- Rob Boothby picks honeycrisp apples at Boothby’s Orchard & Farm in Livermore on Tuesday. “This year we are having a great season,” said the sixth generation Boothby to farm the land. Boothby said that ideal conditions during the May bloom started the apple crop in the right direction after a dismal crop last year. Boothby, his wife, Denise, and their four children grow seven varieties of apples at the orchard.
