I am a Christian, Catholic by birth, and 88 years of age. I have witnessed many changes during my lifetime, but nothing can compare to the present society.
One cannot pick up the daily newspaper without reading about murders — husbands killing wives, wives killing husbands, children killing parents, rapes, mutilations and robberies.
It is all like a terrible nightmare. The clothing that men and women wear adds to all of it. It seems some women cannot expose enough of their bodies.
Now mothers dress their little ones like adults with strapless dresses, makeup, jewelry and high heels, entering them in contests. That must stop. Those little girls are children for such a short time.
Television is one of the worst culprits of this time, featuring murder, sex-driven programs, vile language, etc.
I truly believe that those who are inclined, who are vile and mean and watch those horrible programs, can be influenced by what they see and lose all control.
Oh, for the good old days, when parents supervised their children, their friends and whereabouts. Most children worked to obtain what they wanted. There was no such thing as an allowance. They made their own fun. I am speaking from experience — I have one daughter and four sons.
We have two lives to live, this one and the one hereafter. If we do good during this one, it is a plus. If we are willingly and knowingly bad, there will be Hell to pay.
