AUBURN — The following programs are scheduled at the Auburn Public Library in October. Activities are for teens ages 12-18.

Teen Anime Club, 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Androscoggin Community Room. Talk about favorite or least favorite manga, watch this week’s selection of anime and draw your own characters.

Teens! Friday Stress Reliever, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in the Androscoggin Community Room. Shown for this month’s “Friday at the Movies” series will be “School of Rock,” starring Jack Black.

Teen Gaming Hour, 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in the Androscoggin Community Room. Snacks and XBox and Wii games (only games rated teen and younger).

Teens! Author Visit: Maria Padian, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the Androscoggin Community Room. Join Maine author Maria Padian to discuss her recent book, “Out of Nowhere.” This story takes place in Enniston, Maine, a fictional city which recently has become home to Somali refugees. The book tells the story of Tom Bouchard, a high school senior who is popular, smart and a star on his soccer team. Within this group of Somali immigrants, one in particular – Saaed – impacts Tom’s life. Ask at the Reference Desk if there are still free books available to read before the event.

Safe Voices, 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, in the Teen Space. Amanda from Safe Voices will visit to chat about relationships and work on projects.

Teens Read! Book Club, 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in the Conference Room. Discuss books, share excerpts and make recommendations to one another. Snacks provided.

Teen Read Week: “Seek The Unknown @ your Library,” Oct. 13-19. Stop by this week and look for the teen read week display.

DIY Teens! Takeover, 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Teen Space. This month, teens will be decorating the Teen Space for Halloween.

DIY Teens! Writer’s Group, 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Study Room 223. If you like to write and share what you’ve written, this group is for you. There will also be discussion about publishing the work in a newsletter format in the spring.

Teens! College Night @ the APL, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, in the Androscoggin Community Room. For teens and their parents, this event will feature admissions representatives from Bates College, CMMC College of Nursing & Health Professions, Kaplan University, Central Maine Community College and USM LAC. The evening will begin at 5:30 with a panel discussion facilitated by Joan Macri of College for ME Androscoggin, followed by a brief Q&A session. After that, in a college fair format, each admissions rep will be available with specific information about their college and programs. DIY Teens! Media Club, 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the CREATE! Media Lab. Movies, music, graphic arts — if you can imagine it, you can create it in the Media Lab. Make trailers, podcasts and more that will be posted on the library website.

APL Teens: Teen Advisory Board, 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the Conference Room. Share your ideas about books, programs, how to decorate and use the Teen Space and more. The group meets the fourth Friday of each month.

Teens! Halloween Party, 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the Androscoggin Community Room. There will be games, prizes and food.
