PERU — The Servants Heart Food Pantry of United Baptist Church, which is based in the old Peru Elementary School building on Main Street, has gotten increasingly busy as the needs of the community have increased.

As a result, the pantry needs to reorganize and enlarge to better serve the community. To do this the food pantry will be closed from Oct. 7 through Nov. 6.

When the pantry reopens in November the days will be different than before. It will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon. On days school is closed, whether due to holidays or bad weather, the food pantry will be closed also.
