- Workers prepare bases for three new benches in Abbott Park overlooking Rollo Pond on the campus of the University of Maine at Farmington on Monday. The work is in preparation for a park celebration, unveiling of a student community service project and ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. on UMF’s Charter Day, Oct. 9. The event is one of several to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the university’s charter. The bench work was done by Grimaldi Concrete Floors of Jay. From left are Jake Hiscock, Josh Hiscock and Mike Grimaldi, all of the Jay area. Marco Grimaldi was working but not in the photo.
