OLD ORCHARD BEACH (AP) — The fate of Kate’s Homemade Butter is in the hands of the Old Orchard Beach town council.
The council is scheduled to meet Tuesday to discuss whether to revoke the butter company’s license.
Kate’s has operated in a residential neighborhood for 30 years, but as the business has grown, so have complaints from neighbors about trucks rumbling down the streets.
In June, the town council ordered the butter business to leave by Sept. 30.
Kate’s Homemade Butter intends to move operations to a bigger location in Arundel, but construction delays have postponed the move and the owner has asked to stay in the current location until Feb. 1.
Town Manager Larry Mead tells the Journal Tribune (http://bit.ly/19PWQAz ) he hopes the sides can reach an agreement.
