MONMOUTH — Prosecutors say the mother and daughter who allegedly rammed each other’s cars during a dispute in a Monmouth cemetery, knocking over several headstones in the process, will face charges.
Meanwhile, the mom is denying police accounts of events Friday in Monmouth Ridge Cemetery, which caused about $35,000 in damage.
Police say 42-year-old Melissa Grant and 20-year-old Savannah Lowe were arrested after the double ramming and spent the weekend in jail. Police say Lowe did not want her mother to drive because she thought she was drunk.
Prosecutors later withdrew charges, but District Attorney Maeghan Maloney tells the Kennebec Journal charges will be refiled once her office gets more details from police.
