La Leche League meeting Oct. 10
AUBURN — Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are all invited to a La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome.
This month’s discussion will be “Breastfeeding: Great Beginnings,” which will focus on preparing for nursing baby at birth, establishing and maintaining breastfeeding and adjusting to family life with a new baby.
Pregnancy is an ideal time to begin attending meetings, and mothers find continued attendance provides support throughout their breastfeeding experience. All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion. For more information or breastfeeding help, call the La Leche leader at 782-6645.
Music Booster spaghetti supper
LISBON — Lisbon Music Boosters Association will hold its annual spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the Lisbon High School cafeteria.
Adults, $6; children 10 and under, $3. All money raised goes to scholarships for music camps.
Indoor yard, bake sale Oct. 12
MECHANIC FALLS — An indoor yard and bake sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the American Legion Hall, 41 Elm St.
Rada knives will be for sale. There will be a children’s table.

NEW GLOUCESTER — A yard sale to benefit children in the Philippines will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the New Gloucester Bible Church, Route 100.

Methodist Church senior luncheon
AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church, at 439 Park Ave., invites all seniors and their guests to their luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15.
The program will be Ken and Jane Brooks, and the menu consists of lasagna, roll-ups, tossed salad, garlic bread and apple crisp.

Spook-tacular Science Show
AUBURN — Mad Science of Portland will present a Spook-tacular Science Show at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.
Learn how a spider dives to its doom and what happens to scientists if they don’t follow safety rules. There will be science tricks and treats like the foaming jack-o-lantern, ghosts in bottles and lots more science fun.

Patriotic Rock Concert aids vets
LEWISTON — A Patriotic Rock Concert with Madison Rising will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and event starts at 7.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wounded Heroes Program of Maine and the Disabled American Veterans. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

United Methodist turkey supper
MINOT — The Minot United Methodist Church will host its popular roast turkey supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the corner of Route 121 and Empire Road.
The menu includes roast turkey, homemade stuffing, gravy and mashed potatoes, as well as green beans, cranberry sauce, bread, beverages and an assortment of homemade pies. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 12, and children under the age of 5 are free.
