RUMFORD — Requests to get a price for a thermal imaging camera and to hold a toll road fundraiser are on the agenda for selectmen Thursday night.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 in Rumford Falls Auditorium.
At the Sept. 5 board meeting, fire Chief Robert Chase asked if it would be possible to repair the Fire Department’s thermal imaging camera.
Town Manager Carlo Puiia said the board talked with the chief and learned that the camera is an older model, which means the price of repairing it may exceed the price of purchasing a new one.
Chase said his department is borrowing a camera from Andover and will consider using a demo model until a decision is made on whether to repair the camera or buy a new one.
In other business, selectmen will discuss whether to approve a previous request for a toll road fundraiser.
Resident Eric Giroux asked selectmen Oct. 1 if the Fireman’s Relief Fund could set up a toll road to raise money for repairs to a firetruck. He said they were a couple hundred dollars from the goal.
Selectmen will also discuss a request from the Mountain Valley Athletic Boosters to hold the Denise Garcia 5K benefit run at Hosmer Field on Oct. 26. Denise has recently been diagnosed with cancer and money from the 5K will help with expenses.
