WINTHROP — Following a pair of scoreless halves, Austin Fournier fired a goal into the back of the net on a penalty kick with one minute remaining in overtime to lift Lisbon past Winthrop 1-0 in boys’ soccer action.
The Greyhounds (6-5-2) controlled the pace of the game, making 20 attempts on net, while keeper Nate Bergeron made four saves for the shutout. Matt Sekarek registered eight saves in net for the Ramblers (2-10-1).
Mt. Abram 4, Dirigo 1
SALEM — After going down 1-0 in the first half, senior Chris Daly scored on a penalty kick then erupted for three second-half goals, as Mt. Abram ran past Dirigo 4-1 on senior night in an MVC boys’ soccer matchup.
Calum Dixon and Patrick Banahan tallied an assist each for the Roadrunners (11-2), who are trying to reach the No. 4 position in the Western Class C standings with two games remaining.
Dylan Lord registered the lone goal for the Cougars (4-8), while goaltender Justin Grignon made eight saves in net.
Oxford Hills 4, Skowhegan 0
SOUTH PARIS — Matt Beauchesne led the Oxford Hills offense with a pair of goals, as they cruised past Skowhegan 4-0 in boys’ KVAC soccer action Friday.
Joey Gallant and Luke Davidson notched a goal each for the Vikings (4-9), while Andrew Fleming and Blake Slicer each tallied an assist. Keeper Jake Beauchesne made three saves for Oxford Hills.
Girls’ Soccer
Messalonskee 1, Lewiston 0
OAKLAND — With the lone tally coming in the first half of play, Messalonskee clung to a 1-0 advantage as the Eagles topped Lewiston in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup.
Kassadi McPherson scored an unassisted goal for the Eagles (4-9), while Taylor Lenentine kept her team in the game, recording 16 saves for the shutout. Keeper Kelsey St. Cyr had a strong game in net for the Blue Devils (0-10-2), turning back 16 shots in the loss.
Skowhegan 1, Oxford Hills 0
SKOWHEGAN — Tracey Swanson notched the go-ahead goal on a feed from Morgan Buker as Skowhegan found its first win of the season, topping Oxford Hills 1-0 in girls’ KVAC soccer action.
Andrea Quirion got the job done in net for the Indians (1-11-1), stopping 16 shots for the clean slate. Sam Bickford made three saves in net for the Vikings (7-4-2).
