DIXFIELD — The Board of Selectmen will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at the Ludden Memorial Library to discuss whether to approve four tax-acquired property bids.

During a Sept. 9 meeting, the board unanimously approved four tax-acquired property bids. Town Manager Linda Pagels-Wentworth said there were four other properties that received no bids: 1169 Canton Point Road, 12 Main St., 25 High St. and 19 Mill St.

As a result, the board voted 4-0 to reduce the minimum bid on the Canton Point Road property by 50 percent, and to place no minimum bid requirement on the others on the condition that the bid winners tear down the buildings.

Selectman Dana Whittemore abstained from voting because his brother-in-law had placed a bid on one of the properties and he expected to be involved with it.

The board will also discuss whether to permanently discontinue water and sewer service on land that recently had a trailer.

Pagels-Wentworth said when a resident owns property with a mobile home and later moves the mobile home, they can ask for a discontinuance of water and sewer services.
