FARMINGTON — Five applications for the new county communications director position were received by Tuesday’s deadline, according to Vickie Braley, Franklin County deputy clerk/deputy treasurer.
The director will oversee dispatchers and the new communications center.
After the applications are reviewed by a committee, interviews will be conducted for recommended candidates.
A candidate is expected to be presented to commissioners in early November, county Clerk Julie Magoon previously said.
Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. is hoping to have the new director on board in November.
Dispatchers are expected to move into the new center in January once the new 911 equipment is installed.
