“It all started about four years ago when we decided to invest our Sun-Journal paper route savings in the purchase of musical instruments,” said Edouard “Sparky” Boucher, leader of a Lewiston teenage quartet of popular music entertainers. The four-member group, composed of Edouard’s brother, Paul “Spotty” Boucher, Guy “Spook” Mathieu and Ronnie “Spike” Morin, has published their first two records on the local Fireball label. It was released less than two weeks ago, and appears to have moved up the popularity charts throughout the Androscoggin County area and State of Maine. A gas pump was dragged a quarter of a mile up the road this morning after a driver forgot to remove the hose from the truck’s tank, police said. The truck was parked at the gas tanks at Ness Oil, 249 Washington St., Auburn, at 5:35 a.m., police said. When the truck left with the hose in its tank, it uprooted the diesel pump and towed it as far as Sharlaine Products at 104 Washington St. An employee at Sharlaine Products said the pump was gone this morning and an employee at Ness Oil reported it was back at its original location, but he could not say how it was returned.
