AUGUSTA (AP) — Home heating oil prices in Maine are holding steady as the winter heating season fast approaches.

The Governor’s Energy Office announced Tuesday that its weekly survey of prices found home heating oil selling for a statewide average of $3.54 per gallon. That’s the same as last week and just a penny higher than two weeks ago.

The office found a low of $3.27 per gallon to a high of $3.80.

As usual, the lowest prices were found in the western and southwestern parts of the state, with the highest prices in northern reaches.

Average statewide prices for kerosene and propane also rose slightly over the past two weeks.
