NORWAY — It started out with just one little goblin seen lurking around the Norway Savings Bank and blossomed into hundreds of characters ranging from bees to cowboys roaming Main Street on Friday afternoon.
The annual Halloween Festival drew hundreds of children and their families in search of treats, activities and fun along Main Street.
“I just love it,” said one mother as she took her two toddlers up and down the street to enjoy activities that included a juggler, live music and lots of treats.
At the Norway Memorial Library, children received maps of the participating businesses giving candy and other information on activities. Activities usually include a scavenger hunt, fortunetelling, raffles and games. There are also costumed characters such as Baxter the library cat, Smokey Bear, the Cat in the Hat and a new mascot this year, The Subway Man from Subway sandwich shop.
Storefronts on Main Street have been decorated for more than a week in preparation for the festival and to participate in the decorating contest.
