Alana’s Fine Art Photography of Farmington held the second annual pet portrait contest to benefit the Franklin County Animal Shelter. She photographed local pets throughout the year and part of the session fee was a donation of kitten chow which was donated to the shelter. The best portraits were then entered into the pet portrait contest held at the beginning of the month.

The winning pets were voted on by the public, which counted for 25 percent of the vote and the judges made up 75 percent of the vote. The judges included the Fall Road Veterinary Clinic, Lisa Bryant Photography, Jim Walker Photography, and Corrie Zacharias Photography. You can view all of the portraits on Alana’s website.

The winning pets will be featured in the second annual 2014 Pet Calendar scheduled for release at the end of November and the top three will receive prizes as well. She will be donating 50 percent of the proceeds to FCAS.

Alana will be designing the calendar and is looking for business sponsors to help cover the cost of printing.
