POLAND — The new Tri-Town Education Fund of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland will hold a community dinner Friday, Nov. 15, at Poland Regional High School.
Featured will be spaghetti, pre-dinner snacks, a 50/50 drawing and music from long-time high school teacher Larry Williams and his students. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors (55+) and free for 5 and under. It gets underway at 5 p.m. for guests to meet and mingle, with dinner to follow at 5:30.
The TTEF strives to promote excellence in education in the public schools of RSU 16. The goal is to foster partnerships between schools and local groups, and fund projects that encourage a thirst for knowledge, respect for the community, responsible citizenship and broader student aspirations that fall outside traditional school budget considerations.
As part of its community outreach, the Board of the Fund is inviting RSU 16 School Committee members, elected and appointed officials in Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland, and Parent Teacher Organizations from Elm Street School, Minot Consolidated School and Poland Community School, as well as the Poland High School/Whittier Middle School Boosters Club.
