1943 – 2013
LEWISTON — Reuel E. “Tom” Thompson, 70, of Madrid, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
He was born on June 19, 1943, in New Haven, Conn., a son of, Reuel and Marian (Young) Thompson, Sr. He attended Connecticut schools, graduating from Eli Whitney Technical School in Hamden, Conn.
On Nov. 28, 1964, he married, Patricia “Patti” Nebor in New Haven, Conn.
Tom owned and operated Atlantic Alarms in Connecticut before moving to Maine in September 1988, where he owned and operated Thompson Lumber and later went to work for Bob Thorndike & Sons.
He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and trap-shooting. Tom was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Maine Trappers Association.
Tom is survived by his wife, Patti Thompson of Madrid; daughters, Tracy Thompson and her husband, Anthony Mancino, of Los Alamos, N.M., and Kim Thompson of North Providence, R.I.; grandchildren, Ariana and Alexander Mancino; nieces, Kinda McBride and Jennifer Hutchinson; and many close friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Bruce Thompson.
