FARMINGTON — A four-member management team will oversee the new Bjorn Auditorium and the Presentation Forum at the Mt. Blue Campus.
Team members are teachers Christopher Davis, Deborah Muise, Daniel Ryder and Steve Muise.
The team has received basic training in the new technology and will undergo training for sound and lighting, RSU 9 Superintendent Tom Ward told the school board Tuesday.
The training cost was included in the $65 million addition and renovation project at the campus.
Ward said he is very pleased with the team. Their students will be among those who use the auditorium and forum the most, he said.
“They are very excited about doing it,” he said.
The board voted in October to approve a stipend of $9,000 to be split among the team to manage both entities at the campus, which includes the Mt. Blue High School and Foster Career and Technical Education Center.
They also agreed they would review the data in January 2014 to see if that amount is enough or needs to be decreased.
The team will oversee the forum and auditorium year round.
In other business, the board also voted to approve hiring Cynthia Soucy as a full-time kindergarten teacher at Cushing School in Wilton. She has been an interim teacher in the past, Ward said.
Directors also voted to approve an overnight trip to the Jazz All-State Auditions in Bangor. Teacher Karen Beacham will take three Mt. Blue students who have qualified for the auditions.
