AUBURN — Poland Regional High School has announced the solo art exhibition of senior Alex Hebert at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport. An aspiring pilot, Hebert’s artwork celebrates her love of flying as well as remembers her friend, Josh Wardwell, who tragically passed away one year ago.

“This project is about my love of flying and the person who helped me find that love, Josh Wardwell,” Hebert said. “Josh and I first learned to fly in a Cessna 172 nicknamed Ugly Betty. I created a sculpture of the plane to commemorate our first flight together.”

In addition to the sculpture, Hebert has made a series of photographs documenting their first and last flights together.

The exhibition will be on display daily from Dec. 1-31, and is free and open to the public. The airport is at 80 Airport Drive. For more information, email dsouthwick@rsu16.org.
