NORWAY — A Gray woman was charged Wednesday with selling pills from a prescription she had just had refilled at a local pharmacy.
According to Officer Jeffrey Campbell, Ashley Kim Chapman, 27, was apprehended shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday after Norway police observed her selling 10 pills of dextroamphetamine to a confidential informant in a controlled purchase.
Chapman held a prescription for the drug, commonly used to treat attention deficit disorder, and had it refilled earlier Wednesday, Campbell said.
Following the purchase, officers followed Chapman to South Paris and stopped her car at Advance Auto Parts on Main Street. During a search of the vehicle, officers found Chapman’s recently filled prescription with 10 pills missing and the cash used to buy the drugs, Campbell said.
He said Chapman is known to police but has not lived in the area for several years.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Chapman remained in Oxford County Jail on $2,500 cash bail.
